The Ottercreek Correctional Facility in Wheelwright Kentucky has been closed since 2012, but due to a collaborative effort from Governor Matt Bevin and several state and county officials, this once dormant prison will reopen as the Southeast State Correctional Complex. Floyd County Judge-Executive Robert Williams states that this prison will generate 10 million dollars total to be put back into the Floyd County community. He also states that there will be nearly 200 state jobs open for anyone looking for not only a job, but a career. Multiple job fairs will be held at the facility in Wheelwright and other Floyd County locations until the end of October. Williams states that the facility should be open in early 2020.
