A neo-Nazi political candidate from Illinois made a stop in Pikeville last year.
The Chicago Sun-Times is reporting that white supremacist and holocaust denier Arthur Jones, 70, is poised to be the only GOP candidate for a congressional seat in Illinois. Jones was the only GOP candidate to file to seek office in a heavily-Democratic district encompassing parts of Chicago, and he will face a Democrat in the fall.

Jones was one of dozens of white nationalists to protest in Pikeville last April, and spoke at the event, which was organized by noted white nationalist Matthew Heimbach. Jones, an open white supremacist who denies the holocaust and refers to it as “an international extortion racket”, has unsuccessfully run for office several times since the 1970s. He has been disavowed by the Illinois Republican Party, and, according to the Sun-Times, is not expected to win in November.
