New coronavirus cases, deaths reported in Kentucky

Kentucky’s positive COVID-19 case count has eclipsed 10,000.

According to a statement from Gov. Andy Beshear’s office, Kentucky reported 131 new positive COVID-19 cases and no new deaths on Sunday, and 214 new cases and eight new deaths on Monday. Those figures bring Kentucky’s total positive COVID-19 case count to 10,046 cases and 439 deaths.

Among the deaths reported Monday were six individuals over the age of 75, as well as a 53-year-old man and a 33-year-old man.

The statement says at least 3,232 Kentuckians have recovered from the virus.
