Frankfort, KY — Students in Letcher County will be riding on some new school buses soon. Kentucky officials say five school districts will receive $231,237 to reduce diesel emission from their school bus fleets. The funds were made available through the Kentucky Division for Air Quality’s Clean Diesel Program and the Federal Diesel Emissions Reduction Act. State officials say 5 districts in the state will receive funds to replace a total of 10 diesel school buses. In addition to Letcher County, the other counties include Bullitt, Jefferson, Franklin and Green.
