SALYERSVILLE, Ky. — A passenger who ran away from a Magoffin County traffic stop was quickly arrested and now faces drug trafficking charges.
A Magoffin County sheriff’s deputy had pulled over a car on Route 867 last week, when he reported that a passenger jumped out of the car and ran away.
The deputy pursued the man, who he recognized as Rondall Otis Fee, 59, of Thelma. The deputy knew that Fee was wanted on a bench warrant, so he pursued him as Fee ran toward a wooded area. Fee reportedly ignored commands to stop, so the deputy used his taser on him, bringing the chase to an end.
Following the arrest, the deputy reported finding more than 11 grams of meth, a used syringe and a set of scales.
In addition to the bench warrant, Fee was charged with meth trafficking, fleeing police and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center, in Paintsville.
