DEA agents and deputies with the Perry County Sheriff’s Office went to the home of Clint Begley, 41, of Scuddy, to serve him with an arrest warrant. He is currently under indictment in Perry Circuit Court for possession of fentanyl.

After he was arrested and being taken away, police say his wife, Ashley Begley, 30, came out of the house, pointed a gun at the police cars leaving, and fired one shot, striking a vehicle with four agents inside. No one was injured.

The officers immediately stopped and got out of their vehicles, at which time Ashley Begley threw her pistol on the driveway and surrendered.

Begley has now been charged in federal court with four counts of attempting to murder a federal law enforcement officer and one count of discharging a firearm during a violent crime. She is currently being held in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
