SOUTH WILLIAMSON, Ky. — A shoplifting complaint led police to make a meth trafficking arrest.
State troopers were called to the South Williamson Walmart Saturday afternoon over a report that a woman had been caught shoplifting. The woman was cited and released, but officers also went to check on the man she arrived with, who they found walking to his truck.
After stopping the man, identified as Darrin Blankenship, 52, of Stopover, they discovered his truck had the wrong license plate, his driver’s license was suspended, and there was an active warrant for his arrest. Then when searching his vehicle, they found a large bag of meth and two smaller bags of fentanyl, along with paraphernalia and trafficking materials.
Blankenship was arrested and charged with meth trafficking, drug possession and numerous traffic violations.
