PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Pikeville man who was arrested in May on charges of trafficking in multiple types of drugs has pleaded not guilty after his case was bumped up to federal court.
Christopher Springfield, 42, was arrested after Kentucky State Police raided his home and reported finding large amounts of meth, fentanyl and crack cocaine.
In July, a federal grand jury charged him with possession of meth, fentanyl and cocaine with the intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and two counts of distributing fentanyl.
Springfield appeared in U.S. District Court in Pikeville on Monday, where he pleaded not guilty to the charges. The judge ordered him to be held in jail pending the outcome of his case.
He is scheduled to go on trial Nov. 4.
