HARDY, Ky. — Police conducting a “knock-and-talk” in connection with an active drug investigation ended up taking a Pike County mother and daughter to jail.
State troopers went to the Hardy home of Leatrice Michelle Hunt, 41, who was the subject of the investigation. When they spoke to her, she gave permission to search her, during which officers found 4 grams of heroin.
After the discovery, Hunt allegedly admitted to having more heroin in her bedroom. Inside, police found three bricks of the drug weighing several pounds inside a safe, along with smaller quantities packaged for sale that were hidden in a boot. Hunt’s daughter, 19-year-old Destiny Hunt, reportedly admitted to hiding the heroin in the boot.
Both women were arrested on heroin trafficking charges. Destiny Hunt was also charged with tampering with physical evidence.
