PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Pike County woman faces a number of charges, including some felonies, after what began as a traffic stop for having a headlight out.

Lisa May, 42, of Pikeville, was pulled over just before 4:30 Thursday morning on Owsley Road.

She failed a sobriety test and the officer reported finding meth in her purse. A four-month-old child was in the back seat of the car.

May was arrested on charges of DUI, endangering the welfare of a minor and possession of meth. After jail staff found more meth in her pocket during booking, she picked up two more felony charges of promoting contraband and meth possession.

She is being held in the Pike County Detention Center.
