LONDON, Ky. — A Pike County woman has signaled her intention to plead guilty in a federal child porn case.

Pamela Denise Sargent, 45, of Kimper, is currently charged with four counts of producing child porn. Those charges carry a potential sentence of between 15 and 30 years in prison.

The case began with a child porn investigation in Missouri, where a Park Hills man was arrested for possessing and promoting child porn and sexual exploitation of a minor. The man told police he had received sexually-explicit videos from a Kentucky woman and her daughter, who he believed to be 18.

That investigation allowed police to trace the videos back to Sargent. Court records describe two of the videos, which allegedly show Sargent engaging in sexual acts with two children, believed to be between the ages of 3 and 5.

Sargent’s case has been repeatedly delayed, but she was scheduled to stand trial March 30. But on Monday, her attorney asked the court to allow her to change her not guilty plea, saying his client had reached a plea deal with prosecutors. The judge set a hearing for March 20 in Lexington federal court for her to do that.

Sargent is currently being held in the Grayson County Detention Center, in Leitchfield.
