PAINTSVILLE, Ky. — A Johnson County man wanted by police after not showing up for court was arrested over the weekend and earned a number of new charges in the process.

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office received a tip that Brian Wilson, 30, of Hager Hill, was at a home on Pine Street and went there to check it out.

Deputies spoke to the homeowner, who confirmed Wilson was inside. The officers then saw Wilson run into the bathroom, where they found him attempting to flush a powder down the toilet.

Inside Wilson’s room, police found two bags of heroin, two syringes loaded with heroin, and a bag of meth, along with paraphernalia, a gun and more than $1,800 in cash.

Wilson now faces new charges of trafficking in meth and heroin, trafficking within 1,000 feet of a school, and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
