Pikeville Fire Dept. adds newly certified firefighters/EMT, appoints new Lieutenants

PIKEVILLE, Ky. (MTN) — Earlier this week, the City of Pikeville Fire Department recently acquired 3 newly certified Firefighter/EMT members and appointed new Lieutenants to their department.

According to a Facebook post made by Pikeville Public Safety officials, the newest Firefighter/EMT members include Marcus Riddle, Austin Akers and Hunter Ferran. Each member is also in the process of obtaining various other training certifications to better assist the citizens of Pikeville, the post says.

Additionally, Brian Crum, Matthew Stevens, Johnny Cole and Brandon Hayton were appointed to Lieutenant rank. Hayton is said to serve as the Training Officer for the Department, as well.

The duties of the newly certified Firefighter/EMT members will include assisting the current Battalion Chiefs on their assigned shifts with day to day operations, decision making and the safety of all members on emergency scenes.
