PIKEVILLE, Ky. — Pikeville Independent Schools Supt. David Trimble on Thursday announced that an employee at Pikeville Elementary has tested positive for COVID-19.
In a letter to parents, Trimble said the employee followed all mask and social distancing guidelines, and had very limited interaction with students, resulting in no need to implement any quarantines.
Trimble also discussed Pike County’s recent move to the critical category in COVID-19 incidence. He said that after consulting with health experts, the city school district will remain on its Yellow virtual schedule until at least Nov. 6.
