RIVER, Ky. — A Johnson County man was arrested on a felony charge, after his girlfriend made a domestic violence complaint.

Deputies were called to a home on Webb Branch Road around 2:30 Tuesday morning. The girlfriend reported that 27-year-old Skyler Kestner had gotten drunk and began hitting, pushing, biting and strangling her.

During the altercation, she told deputies that Kestner also hurt their 2-year-old child, then wouldn’t let her check on him, saying he would be OK.

She said she was finally able to call for help after he passed out.

Kestner was arrested on a felony count of strangulation, as well as misdemeanor counts of domestic violence assault and child abuse assault.
