PMC announces changes in response to COVID surge

PIKEVILLE, Ky. — Pikeville Medical Center is tightening visitation restrictions in response to surging cases of COVID-19.

Beginning at 7 a.m., Monday, hospitalized patients will be restricted to one visitor over the age of 16, during regular visitation hours. The only exceptions are for pediatrics and obstetrics patients, who can have two designated visitors.

Clinic and emergency room patients are encouraged to come alone, but only one person can accompany an adult patient, and two can accompany a child patient.

The hospital notes that the new restrictions are a temporary measure.
