Police probe $9K in missing equipment at Jenkins City Hall

Three pieces of video production equipment are believed to have been stolen from Jenkins City Hall.

Police are currently investigating after it was discovered the equipment was missing.

Jenkins Mayor Todd DePriest told EKB News the equipment was several years old and was originally purchased to broadcast the Jenkins City Council meetings on television. Once the location of the meetings were moved to a downstairs room at City Hall, the equipment sat unused for several years.

It’s unclear when the equipment went missing, or who may have take it, but city officials are reviewing video surveillance footage of the area where the equipment had been kept.

The missing equipment included an audio and video mixing board, a camera control pad and a recording unit. The missing equipment was stored with other, more expensive equipment, which was not taken.

The total value of the missing equipment is approximately $9,000.

Mayor Todd DePriest said he hopes anyone with information on the equipment will contact Jenkins Police and the equipment will eventually be returned.
