WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Joe Biden is raising the stakes for unvaccinated Americans.
The president is signing a number of executive orders requiring COVID-19 vaccinations for more people.
Under the new rules, companies employing more than 100 people would be forced to either require their employees to get vaccinated or test their employees weekly. Companies that do not comply would be fined $14,000 per violation.
That move is expected to affect about 80 million workers.
In addition, the president’s plan would also require all employees of any health facility receiving Medicare or Medicaid funds to be vaccinated, as well as all executive branch federal employees and contractors doing business with the federal government.
Finally, the plan calls on all large sports and entertainment venues to require patrons to be vaccinated or show proof of a negative COVID test in order to enter.
