Sen. Paul gets a seven-day suspension from Youtube

WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Sen. Rand Paul has been suspended from Youtube for seven days.

The video site took action against Kentucky’s junior senator after he posted a video claiming that face masks are ineffective in curtailing the spread of the coronavirus.

Paul took the news in stride, saying it was “a badge of honor” to be targeted by “leftwing cretins.”

Youtube says the decision to suspend Paul is in accordance with its policy against spreading misinformation about the pandemic.

This is Paul’s first brush against Youtube’s “three strikes” policy. A second violation within 90 days would result in a two-week suspension, while a third would result in a permanent ban.
