CORBIN, Ky. — SOAR is spreading its wings and will land in a new venue this year, far from its Pikeville roots.

For the first time since its inception, this year’s SOAR Summit is venturing away from Pikeville

Gov. Andy Beshear and Congressman Hal Rogers were joined by state and local leaders Thursday afternoon in announcing that this year’s summit will be held in Corbin. The 2021 SOAR Summit will take place Oct. 13 and 14 at the Corbin Arena.

This year, SOAR began accepting proposals from cities wanting to host the event.

Due to the pandemic, last year’s summit was an all-virtual affair. Other than that, all other SOAR Summits have been held in Pikeville.
