
PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Pike Central High School student was taken to jail Monday, after school officials reportedly found a gun in his vehicle.
According to court records, administrators were working end a verbal altercation between two students, when they received a report that Raymond Wood, 18, of Varney, had brought a gun to school.
When confronted about the allegation, Wood reportedly admitted to having a gun in his truck, and officials found it in the passenger seat.
He is now charged with possession of a weapon on school property, which is a felony punishable by up to five years in prison.
