Telethon raises over $24,000 for neglected and abused children of Eastern KY

Judi’s Place for Kids held their annual telethon at the Mountain Arts Center on Wednesday, February 19th as they raised over $24,000 for children who have been abused and neglected.

Judi’s Place for Kids is an organization making sure that abused children in our community have access to quality services close to home with locations in Pikeville and Prestonsburg.

A concert was provided as part of the telethon with musical acts including Waylon Nelson, CoalTown Dixie, and Nicholas Jamerson.

Even though the organization has almost reached its goal of raising $25,000 dollars, they are always in need of volunteers with their programs.

“I would encourage if anyone really has a heart to care about abused children and wants to get involved more, just to call us…” states Executive Director of Judi’s Place for Kids Laura Kretzer.
