Pikeville, KY — Two Pike County men are under arrest for hindering apprehension. Pikeville Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Bypass road. Officers asked the driver, 30-year-old Frankie Sargent of Island Creek who the female passenger was. Numerous times, Sargent said it was his wife. Officers asked another passenger in the vehicle, 28-year-old Coby Barton also of Island Creek who the female was. Barton also said it was Sargent’s wife. Upon further investigation, the female was not Sargent’s wife but was 27-year-old Britley Blackburn who was wanted out of Tennessee for a parole warrant. Sargent and Barton were both charged with Hindering Prosecution or Apprehension 2nd degree, Blackburn was lodged on the Tennessee warrant and with giving an officer false identifying information. All three remain lodged in the Pike County Detention Center.
