VAN LEAR, Ky. –Three Johnson County residents were arrested for drug trafficking early Friday morning, after being pulled over in a traffic stop.
A sheriff’s deputy was patrolling along Webb Hollow in Van Lear, when he spotted an SUV driving without a license plate. Inside the vehicle were the driver, Bryan Trenton Fraley, 43, of Lowmansville, and two passengers, Gregory Layne Vanhoose, 61, of Meally, and Amber Lynn Richmond, 45, of Wittensville.
The deputy reported seeing Fraley attempting to conceal items as he walked up the vehicle, and Fraley told the officer that he also didn’t have registration or insurance.
The deputy found a bag containing meth, marijuana and pills on the passenger side of the car, along with digital scales and a meth pipe. No one in the car would claim ownership of the items, so all three were arrested and charged with meth and marijuana trafficking, drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.
All three were lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville. Vanhoose and Richmond have since made bail, while Fraley remains in jail.
