ABINGDON, Va. — Three Wise County drug dealers were sentenced to prison last week, including one who officials describe as a major supplier of meth and fentanyl.
Bradley Mitchell Chester, 39, of Pound, previously pleaded guilty to federal charges of conspiracy to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute more than 500 grams of meth, conspiracy to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute more than 40 grams of fentanyl, and two counts of possession of meth and fentanyl with the intent to distribute.
Prosecutors says Chester would make trips to North Carolina and Kentucky to buy as much as several pounds of meth and a pound of fentanyl each time. He would then distribute the drugs to other dealers in Wise County to sell locally.
At a hearing on Thursday, he was sentenced to 84 months in prison.
Two of the dealers Chester supplied — Matthew “Red” Addington, 41, and Michael Hicks, 36, both of Pound — were also sentenced Thursday. Addington was sentenced to 60 months in prison, while Hicks received 36 months.
The case was investigated by the Wise County Sheriff’s Office, Southwest Virginia Drug Task Force and the ATF.
