Officials in Letcher County are collecting toys and other items to help ease the difficulty for children having to endure the court process.
The Letcher County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s office’s victim advocates are collecting toys and other items to construct “Busy Boxes” for kids who have to be in court. The purpose of the Busy Boxes is to give children items to keep them occupied and comforted during the court process.
A police cruiser will be set up at the Whitesburg Walmart Saturday, May 5th from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. where donations of stuffed animals, toys and other children’s items can be dropped off. Stuffed animals should be new or gently used. For more information, contact Bobbi Polly at 606-633-9588, or Felicia Wright at 606-633-8121.
