SALYERSVILLE, Ky. — What was described as a routine traffic stop led the Magoffin County Sheriff’s Office to arrest three people on drug trafficking charges Sunday.
It happened Sunday afternoon on Route 378, when officers pulled over Melissa Arnett, 35, for reckless driving. But Sheriff Carson Montgomery and special deputies Dewey Marshall and Jordan Osborne ended up discovering several types of drugs, including meth and heroin, along with guns, scales, paraphernalia and cash.
Police arrested Arnett, along with 37-year-old Alvin Ratliff Jr. and 31-year-old Matthew Mullins on numerous charges, including meth trafficking, heroin trafficking, and possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
