Truck driver killed in crash

HARDY, Ky. — Police are investigating a single-vehicle crash in Pike County that resulted in one man’s death.

It happened just after 3 Thursday afternoon on Route 319 at Hardy. According to Kentucky State Police, James Hager, 48, of Inez, was driving a log truck when he lost control of the vehicle and overturned.

He died at the scene.

Debris from the truck struck another vehicle, but no one else was injured.

The accident tore down power lines, closing the road and resulting in an outage in the area for several hours.
