The investigation into a shooting at Betsy Layne last weekend is ongoing, and two people have been arrested.

According to a statement from Kentucky State Police, two individuals have been arrested on felony charges related to the shooting of another person Saturday morning. The victim was found lying in the roadway on Bobcat Boulevard and was taken to Pikeville Medical Center for treatment of a gunshot wound.

According to the statement one of the persons arrested was charged with first-degree assault and first-degree robbery. The second person arrested was charged with first-degree robbery. According to the statement, more charges could be filed as the case develops.

The names of the people arrested in the case were not released by Kentucky State Police as the investigation is ongoing.

The victim in the case, whose name has also not been released, remains in critical condition, the statement said.
