LOGAN, W.VA. (WCHS/WVAH) — Two Logan County women have been charged after they are accused of trying to post bonds with counterfeit money in two separate instances less than a week apart.
On Tuesday, Denise West is accused of trying to post bond for another woman with counterfeit money, according to a criminal complaint filed in Logan County Magistrate Court.
The release said West tried to use a counterfeit $100 bill that had had “Chinese” type writing on both sides.
On Dec. 27, Nancy Helen McKinney, 46, is also accused of trying to post bond for another person using counterfeit money, according to a complaint.
The complaint said McKinney was trying to post an individuals bond on Dec. 27 when she gave a magistrate clerk a counterfeit $100 bill.
Both West and KcKinney were charged with counterfeiting.
