UPDATE: Victim identified in deadly Pike County crash

UPDATE — May 25, 2020: The victim killed in Friday’s fatal crash has been identified by Kentucky State Police as Dylan Price, 27, of Shelbiana. The two other victims of the crash transferred to the University of Kentucky’s medical center in Lexington are reported to be in “stable” condition.

PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A person was killed Friday morning in a crash in Pike County.

According to a statement from Kentucky State Police, troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash just before 8:30 a.m. on Ky Highway 122—Collins Highway, near Pikeville. The investigation by KSP determined that one of the vehicles involved in the crash crossed the center line of the highway and collided head-on with another vehicle.

One of the occupants of one the vehicles died at the scene of the crash. The other vehicle involved in the wreck had four people inside, two of whom were taken to Pikeville Medical Center and later transferred to the University of Kentucky’s medical center in Lexington.

The name of the person killed in the crash has not yet been released. The crash, KSP says, remains under investigation.
