Victims of motorcycle crash identified

KIMPER, Ky. — Police have released the identities of two people killed yesterday in a motorcycle crash on Upper Johns Creek Road, near Kimper.

The motorcycle’s operator was 56-year-old James Shepherd and the passenger was 76-year-old Geneva Hunter, both of Phyllis.

Kentucky State Police received a call just before 3 p.m. yesterday, reporting the crash on Route 632. Police say the bike was traveling east along the highway, when it left the road and crashed into a creek.

It has not been determined why the motorcyle left the road, but police do not believe any other vehicles were involved.

Shepherd and Hunter were pronounced dead at the scene.
