Two additional COVID-19 cases confirmed in Floyd County bringing total to 5

Two additional cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Floyd County, bringing the total of positive COVID-19 cases to 5.

According to a statement released on Wednesday, April 15 by the Floyd County Health Department:

“We have received lab confirmation of our 4th and 5th cases of coronavirus in Floyd County in a 38 year old female and a 21 year old male.

Again we are urging our people to #stayhealthyathome and continue to go out only for work, food, and medication.

Remember the virus is spread by the movement of people. If you believe that you are a contact to a case you should self-monitor for symptoms of fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, diarrhea and nausea. If you become ill stay at home and isolate from others in your home.

Consider wearing a mask when you are out and wash your hands, cover your cough, and always try to stay 6 feet away from others. #Besmartstaysafe!”

No other additional information has been released at this time.
