PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Knott County man who was released from prison last May after serving a sentence on federal drug charges could be headed back.

Freddie Kennedy III, 38, of Sassafras, was convicted of conspiracy to distribute oxycodone in 2014 and was sentenced to four years in prison. He also served time on state charges for manufacturing meth.

Now a report issued by the probation office last month seeks to send him back to prison, after alleging six violations of his probation. Those violations include matters such as not reporting to the probation office and not reporting a change of address, but also include using a controlled substance and committing a crime.

The report does not specify what crime he is accused of committing, but state court records show he was arrested for DUI following a crash in Perry County in December.

He is scheduled to be arraigned on the charges in U.S. District Court in Pikeville on Thursday.
