
The Betsy Layne Lady Bobcats knocked off the Jenkins Lady Cavaliers 3-0 in volleyball action Wednesday night.
Betsy Layne secured the win with set scores of 25-13, 25-19 and 25-19.
Junior standout Jayden Jarrell once again powered the Lady Bobcats, finishing with 22 kills, three assists and three serving aces. Defensively, junior Aubrey Williams added three blocks along with four kills and an assist.
Jarrell now has 379 kills on the season, accounting for more than half of Betsy Layne’s total team kills. Williams has tallied 49 of the team’s 154 blocks this year.
Individual stats for Jenkins players were not available at press time.
The win moves Betsy Layne to 13-10 on the season, while Jenkins falls to 5-13. The Lady Bobcats will return to action Monday, Oct. 6, on the road at Hazard, with first serve scheduled for 6 p.m. Jenkins will play tonight, Oct. 2, at Jackson City in a 6 p.m. start.
