WHITESBURG, Ky. (MTN) — Officials from the Kentucky River District Health Department has confirmed a positive case of COVID-19 in Letcher County, KY.

According to a release from the KRDHD, the confirmed positive case is an employee who works in the deli of the Whitesburg Food City located at 251 Medical Plaza Ln, Whitesburg, Kentucky.

Health officials are asking that if you have visited the Whitesburg Food City and purchased items from the deli between July 15, 2020 to July 17, 2020 you may have been exposed to the novel coronavirus.

“We are continuing to see new cases of COVID-19 spread throughout our district. The health department staff is working to monitor these cases and notifying anyone that has been exposed,” said Scott Lockard, KRDHD Public Health Director.

The release continues to say that KRDHD officials along with their Epidemiology team are working with the Kentucky Department for Public Health to identify and contact all those who may have come in contact with this individual.
