PRESTONSBURG, Ky. — Floyd County deputies didn’t have to go very far to make a drug arrest.
You could say it came to them.
Stephanie Cooley, 49, of Prestonsburg, was scheduled to go on trial for shoplifting last Thursday. But when she went through the security checkpoint at the Floyd County Justice Center, deputies found a container of meth in her purse, along with a bottle of pills and a glass pipe.
Cooley was arrested on misdemeanor charges of possessing drugs and drug paraphernalia. Her shoplifting trial was postponed until next month.
