Zach’s Racing Roundup: 201 Speedway- October 11th Halloween Thriller Results

On Saturday night, the three-eighths-mile clay oval saw some great action and a picture-perfect night for racing under the lights in Johnson County.

We’ll start things off in the Super Late Model class, where we saw Kevin Wagner, who made the trip down U.S. 23 from Wheelersburg, Ohio, take his No. 33 machine to victory lane in the $2,000-to-win feature.

A big-time race went down in the Crate Late Model class as we saw A.J. Hicks take his No. 64 to a Heat 2 win before going on to win the feature.

In this division, we see a name that might be familiar to Floyd County sports fans. Remember that Betsy Layne team that went to Richmond, shocked the state and brought home an All “A” Classic title? I’m sure Nathan Martin does. He was the MVP of that tournament and has now moved back to the mountains to continue his career as a pharmacist — but he can get the job done on the racetrack as well. The 3N car of Martin came home fifth in the feature.

Next up, we’ll check out the Open Wheel Modified feature, where we saw Evan Vance take the win in his P20 car — a hard-fought victory with a ton of skill shown throughout the night.

The next class is a favorite of mine: the Crown Vic class. It was won by a man who is no stranger to the winner’s circle in this class, as he has won multiple times this season at different tracks, including Willard Speedway. We saw Robbie Sallie in the 2S car make his way to victory lane — a great win for the London, Kentucky, racer.

Next up is the 4-Cylinder class, where we saw Jackson Lambert find victory lane in his J7 machine after a consistent race that ended his night in victory lane. Also, we saw the 4-Cylinder Power Puff class, where Candice Gayhart took the No. 59 car to victory lane.

A fun night of racing down at 201 Speedway, and we’ll be sure to follow up in the coming days with more dirt racing news from around the region. Until next time!
