59TH DISTRICT SOFTBALL: Pikeville, Shelby Valley reach championship game

Pikeville pounded out 17 hits and pitcher Emily Ford tossed a no-hitter as the Lady Panthers advanced to the championship game with a 15-0 win over East Ridge in a game played on the Reservation Memorial Day.

Ford struck out 10 batters and walked only one as Pikeville moved to 26-10 and will now face Shelby Valley in the championship game at 7 p.m. tonight.

Olivia Hall tripled and scored twice while driving in three runs. Ford doubled and batted in three. Ginna Jones doubled, singled, scored two runs and added an RBI while Isabelle Rose added two hits and knocked in two runs.

Kelcie Adams had four hits and knocked in one run while scoring twice. Molly Coleman added three hits and scored three runs. Cassidy Slater singled twice, walked, and scored three runs.

Hannah Steffey walked and was the only base runner for the Lady Warriors, whose season ended at 1-16. Savannah Baldridge was the losing pitcher.

Shelby Valley collected 16 hits and the Bat Kats made quick work of Jenkins, beating the Lady Cavaliers, 17-1, in three innings on the Reservation Memorial Day.

Kyra Looney had two triples, walked twice, scored four runs, and knocked in a pair as Shelby Valley moved to 12-18. Riley Fleming doubled and drove in three runs while scoring once.

Winning pitcher Lily Napier singled and added a pair of RBIs. Maggie Hall finished with three hits while Macy Salyers, Beth Werner, Katelyn Thompson, and Olivia Thornsburry each had a pair of hits.
