DWALE, Ky. — A Floyd County man who was pulled over for driving on a suspended license found himself facing more serious trouble, when police found half an ounce of meth in his car.
A Floyd County sheriff’s deputy was patrolling in Dwale, when he saw 22-year-old Damon O’Ryan Jewell, of Dwale, drive by.
From previous encounters, the deputy knew Jewell’s license had been suspended, so he pulled him over.
Jewell confirmed that his license was still suspended, but the deputy called in a K-9 to sniff around the car, due to Jewell having previous drug charges. The dog alerted on the car and a search soon turned up a plastic bag of meth under the passenger seat.
Jewell reportedly told the officer he wasn’t aware that bag was still in the car, but claimed ownership of it.
He was arrested on charges of first-degree meth trafficking and driving on a suspended license. He is being held on a $5,000 cash bond.
