PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Martin County man already under indictment for producing and distributing child pornography now faces additional charges with the release of a new indictment.

Donald York Jr., 69, of Beauty, was charged back in June with two counts of producing child porn and one count of distributing it. Now, with a superseding indictment handed down on Thursday, he faces two additional counts of producing and one additional count of distributing.
Prosecutors say the new charges came about following the discovery of new evidence, and they say it is possible that a second person could be charged.
York is accused of coercing a girl to engage in sexual activity that he recorded. All of the charges are alleged to have taken place in 2019 and 2020.
The case had been scheduled to go to trial next month, but now that will likely be delayed.
The production charges carry a potential prison sentence of between 15 and 30 years, while the distributing charges carry a potential sentence of 5-to-20 years.
