
PRESTONSBURG, Ky. — We’re learning more about the allegations against a Floyd County dentist accused of a violent attack, after a grand jury indicted him on Wednesday.
Marty Minix, 56, of East Point, is charged with first-degree assault and strangulation in Floyd Circuit Court.
The indictment accuses him of punching, kicking and choking his girlfriend, as well as beating her with a blunt object.
The assault charge is the most serious, carrying a potential prison sentence of 10-to-20 years.
Minix was arrested by Lexington Police at his Harrodsburg Road office on Monday. Since then, he has been released from jail after posting a $10,000 cash bond.
The case was investigated by Prestonsburg Police Det. Dennis Hutchinson.
