PAINTSVILLE, Ky. — Fans of apple butter and stack cakes will have to wait another year to get their fix, after organizers announced Friday that this year’s Kentucky Apple Festival has been canceled.
The Paintsville festival is one of the largest fall festivals in the state, and organizers had hoped to return this year after being forced to cancel last year due to the pandemic.
However, after consulting with health officials and emergency management about the current surge of cases, organizers said there was no other option but to cancel this year.
