BIG STONE GAP, Va. — One week after a Coeburn man pleaded guilty to federal gun and drug charges, another Wise County man has been charged over allegations that he was the supplier.

Jamie Lynn Johnson, 45, pleaded guilty Feb. 3 to charges of conspiracy, distributing meth and using a gun in furtherance of a drug crime.
Now, Payton Lee Farris, 25, of Coeburn, has been charged with conspiracy and meth trafficking.
During the investigation into Johnson and other drug traffickers, authorities were told on several occasions that Farris was their supplier for meth, in addition to selling the drug on his own. One informant told investigators they purchased a half-pound of meth from Farris and saw him with another 2 lbs.
Police say they then staged two undercover buys from Farris, obtaining 2 oz. of meth each time, as well as a handgun the second time.
Farris is currently in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
