PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Pike County man has been arrested, one month after being indicted on federal drug and gun charges.

Isaiah “Jay” Harrell, 20, of Ransom, is charged with possession of more than 500 grams of meth and more than 40 grams of fentanyl with the intent to distribute, as well as using a gun in a drug trafficking crime.

Harrell was initially arrested back in September, when he was a passenger in a car that was pulled over at Sidney. During that stop, police found more than 2.5 lbs. of meth and 3 oz. of fentanyl in the floor by his feet. They also discovered a loaded 9 mm handgun in his waistband.

If convicted, he could receive a sentence ranging anywhere from 10 years to life in prison.

He was out of jail on bond when the indictment was handed down Dec. 20 and was re-arrested on Monday. He is currently being held in the Pike County Detention Center.
