Reigning National Player of the Year Oscar Tshiebwe finished with a double-double and provided the spark Kentucky needed in the second half as the Wildcats pulled away to beat at Yale, 69-59, at Rupp Arena on Saturday afternoon.
Kentucky moved to 7-2 while the Bulldogs dropped to 8-3. The Wildcats will next play against UCLA at Madison Square Garden in New York next Saturday.
The Wildcats led the game throughout, trailing only 35-33 with 17:37 left to play. UK’s biggest lead came at 67-52 with four minutes remaining.
Tshiebwe finished with a game-high 28 points and 12 rebounds while Sahvir Wheeler and Antonio Reeves added 10 each.
