GRUNDY, Va. — The two people accused of engaging in a sexual act in front of onlookers by the gas pumps at the Grundy Double Kwik have been arrested and appeared in court last week, with one of them entering a guilty plea.

Matthew Fuller, 38, of South Boston, Va., and Mildred Pacheco, 47, of Danville, Va., were in the Buchanan County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court to answer the charges against them. They are accused of engaging in the tryst back on New Year’s Eve, then fleeing once police were called.

Fuller has been tentatively charged with eluding police, obscene sexual display in public, and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of minors. His case has now been sent to a grand jury for possible indictment.

Pacheco pleaded guilty to obscene sexual display in public, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and assault and battery for brandishing a tire iron during an argument with some of the bystanders afterward. She will spend the next six months in jail.

“Buchanan County citizens should never be involuntarily subjected to such lewd acts of public obscenity, especially our juveniles,” Buchanan County Commonwealth’s Attorney Gerald Arrington said. “We should be able to go to work, patron the Double Kwik, and go about our day to day without the concern of having to witness the display the Defendant brought to our County. The jail time she will serve will far outweigh her 15 minutes of fame.”
