OIL SPRINGS, Ky. — Two Johnson County residents after police looking to serve a warrant found a significant amount of drugs.

Police received a tip that a person wanted on an indictment warrant could be found at a home in Oil Springs. When they arrived, they encountered Thomas Michael Smith, 32, and Tiffany Nichole Blanton, 33, sitting in a car parked behind the house.

Smith got out of the car as the officer approached, but the officer spotted a bong sitting in the floorboard. He then asked Blanton to get out of the car, which revealed a bookbag under her containing what was described as a significant amount of meth, along with scales and cash. Police also found a pill bottle containing a variety of pills in the center console.

After telling Smith and Blanton they were under arrest, officers also found a bag of meth and a bag of heroin on the ground where Blanton had been standing.

Both were charged with meth and heroin trafficking, as well as possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
