BIG STONE GAP, Va. — A Dickenson County man appears ready to plead guilty to federal drug and gun charges.
Bernard Anthony Murphy, 57, has been charged with distributing meth and possessing a gun during a drug trafficking crime. The meth charge is punishable by up to 20 years in prison, but the use of a gun can increase that sentence to life.
Murphy has not yet appeared in court, but a signed plea agreement is included in his court file. He is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
