LOGAN, W.Va. — A simple registration violation resulted in a police chase that ended with a Logan County man jailed on numerous charges.
A Logan County sheriff’s deputy spotted the vehicle Saturday on Buffalo Creek Road and attempted to pull it over. Instead, the vehicle sped away, driving in the wrong lane and eventually crashing into an abandoned building.
The driver — identified by court records as 43-year-old Nathan Joe Meade — ran from the vehicle, but was quickly arrested.
The deputy discovered Meade had active warrants for absconding home confinement, escape and destruction of property. He was also charged with fleeing with reckless indifference, possession of fentanyl, fleeing on foot and several traffic violations.
He is now being held without bail in the Southwestern Regional Jail, at Holden.
